Born in 2007,Best stars of Stars of Limbe is 10 years old.What a great story it would be if eyeing a celebratory 10 th anniversary Best stars leave a Mark.

It has not been the best of seasons for the boys of coach Djoufack Keukang S. But they can comfortably be termed dark horses, given that the club has represented the region in 2 of the last 3 national elite two play offs.

The Academicians of Limbe finished 2nd in pool B after registering 6 wins,3 draws and 3 defeats in 12 games.

Best stars, once upon a time home of multiple young talents, now banging the doors of the senior national selection like Joshua Mbuluba Ndoh,Arrey Valery Dungston,Mark OJONG,Jih Kelvin Ketu,Pierre Nkunde Malong, have had defensive and attacking problems this season.

Victoria United FC aka OPOPO

In the wake of 1976, the amalgamation of PWD Victoria,Victoria Stars and Presbook Victoria gave birth to Victoria United FC alias OPOPO*.

They are the defending champions of the region and have suffered just 4 defeats(Maumu FC,AS Bethel,Eyonde FC and New Stars F.C) in the last 2 years of Mbock Maput’s appointment as team manager.

The club recorded it’s best Cup of Cameroon run in 21 years this season but suffered a disappointing defeat against New Stars in the semi finals of the competition.

The team can’t repeat the record of the 1996 dream team that went unbeaten all season but President Ndive Thomas would be a happy man if the team picks up an elite two ticket by the end of the season.

Victoria United recorded 11 wins,2 draws and 1 defeat in 14 league games in Pool A, finishing top with 35 points.

The team’s top scorer is Kelly Charles with 11 goals in 11 matches and is in his second season with the club(He scored the Same number of goals scored by the entire Best stars team in 14 matches and CUSA.He is an incredible player and clubs like EEMSA scored just 4 goals more than him* *He must have been having a go at his cousin Modest of EEMSA given his tally.

The Limbe boys have scored 40 goals this season and have conceded 12 goals in 14 league games so far*

Victoria United FC’s best win was their 8 goals to 1 humbling of Little foot in match day 14,The United boys’ worst defeat came away to Eyonde FC as they lost by 3 goals to 1.

The Limbe boys have kept 6 clean sheets in the league this season.

Catholic University Sports Academy Buea

Created in 2014 CUSA have qualified to compete in the mini interpool for the second time since their creation.

Catholic University SA will be clashing with Victoria United FC for the 3rd time and their previous two meetings have come in the mini interpool where Opopo has edged CUSA in an aggregate of 5 goals to 2.

CUSA has kept 7 clean sheets going into the Mini Interpool. CUSA is one of the two teams to record a win against Maumu Youths this season as they first signaled their intention in match day one beating Maumu Youths by 2 goals to 1. CUSA recorded 6 wins,5 draws and 4 defeats in 15 games.

Going into the Mini Interpool CUSA has scored 11 goals and conceded 8. CUSA’s top scorers are Oben Mulango and Ngollo Collins(ex Victoria United player) with 2 goals each.

The Academicians’ best win this season was a 2 nil win over Dynamic and their worst defeat came against Maumu in Match day 10 when they were thrashed 3 goals to 1.

Ngu Desire and Ebai Fabrice are highly rated Young lads in the squad with a bright future and Coach Enobi Brandon uses them as his wild cats.

Eteki Esoh Memorial Sports Academy

Eteki Esoh Memorial Sports Academy (EEMSA) Tiko VS Cinyodev FA Buea. 5th Meeting in two seasons. CINYODEV have had an edge in recent time.

Created in 2006 EEMSA has qualified for their 3rd mini interpool as the club that played the finals in 2009 against Dynamic of Buea as group B winners with 21 points*

The Boys of President Eteki Charles Dikonge played 12 matches this season out of which they won 6,drew 3 and suffered defeats in 3 games.

Their Technical staff is intimidating with some good old football brains and that accounts for the 15 goals they have scored in 12 matches, but they have leaked far too many goals so far,that is 10 goals conceded.

They have a former CAF champions league goalkeeper in Ebere Festus to thank for the 7 clean sheets they have kept so far.Their central defensive partnership of Serge Fabrice and Njie Arrey Tambe is simply tailor made.

*Their midfield compactness doesn’t just throw a spanner into the works of oppositions but create things too up front, as the club’s top scorer is a Midfielder, Ngu Michael Ndifor who has scored 5 times this season*

Captain Marvin Akongoh and friends best win so far was a 5 goals to 1 win at home against Leopards FC of Lebialem and the club’s worst defeats were 3 goals to 1 defeats at home to Tiko United and away to Leopards FC.

Community Institute for Youths Development (CINYODEV) Football Academy

Created in 2010, The Molyko Boys finished 3rd in Pool C this season with 29 points.The Boys of Coach Chombong Collins played 15 games out of which they won 8,drew 5 and suffered just two defeats.

The club can boast of one of the youngest squads in this year’s Championship but the team has scored 18 goals and conceded 14 goals this season.

Cinyodev defensive solidity is the reason why they have kept 8 clean sheets this season.Their worse defeat this season was handed them by Maumu Youths FC in a game that saw them thrashed by 5 goals to 1 and their best win is their match day two 2 goals to zero win over of neighbours Dynamic of Buea.

Goal getters for CINYODEV include 16 years old TANGIRI FRANKLIN YUSINYU who has 13 goals(9 League goals)in all competition this season.

20-year-old JUNIOR RAPHAEL BIBEHA and 19 years old BIAKA GEORGE BAYEMEG are a duo with trouble venom for any opponent. Goal scoring is not their thing but they pick their moments to make a goalkeeper look stupid.
CINYODEV’s oldest guard is MUNDA ACHI BAUREEN is a 29-year-old dependable player for coach Chombong Collins.

Maumu Youths FC

Created in 2011, Maumu youths FC rise to power this season has been remarkable. The boys of President Harrison Atabe have built their success so far on all attacking football. Mondoa Bright is the club’s top scorer with 10 goals in the league this season,Boja Brandon has 8 goals to his account while experienced striker Ngalame Clovis has stupefied opposing goalies 6 times this season.

The club has played 15 games in the league this far and have so far recorded 10 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats(CUSA and St Peter’s).

The above records have seen Maumu earn 33 points and finished second in Pool C to St Peter’s FC.

Maumu youths F.C has scored 24 goals this season. (The Youths have Scored all games this season) Maumu is equally good at the back and have picked the ball from the back of their net 12 times this season keeping 7 clean sheets in the process.

St Peter’s FC Based in Limbe

It has been a beautiful 6 months for the club born in Ekondo Titi as the club’s financial muscle has improved significantly.The improvement in St Peter’s financial strength has seen her move from Ndian to Fako and these days the club is the Darling of Limbe.

The boys of Coach Joseph Victor are the second most efficient team in front of goal with 36 goals scored in 15 games in the league this season.The club’s goals have come from multiple sources.Former Dragon Yaounde and AS Menoua Striker Ntepe Abdoulaye is the club’s current top scorer with 9 goals while former NQSA striker Gwe Beckly has scored 8 times this season. Another experienced striker, one time employee of Fovu of Baham Abdel Azeez contributed his fair share of goals mostly from the bench.Abdel already has 3 goals to his credit this season.

At the back, St Peter’s FC has been solid and have kept 9 clean sheets (the best for all mini interpool teams) and have picked the ball from the back of their net just 6 times this season.

Only Cinyodev FA scored more than once against St peters this season.The club’s defensive main man is former NQSA elite one defender Goil Adran.

Through out the 15 game marathon season, the club suffered just one defeat at home to Maumu youths in Match day 9.

St Peter’s F.C has recorded 11 wins,3 draws and 1 defeat in 15 games earning 36 points out of 45 points.

Eyonde FC of Mbonge

Created in 2012 Eyonde FC of Mbonge is going into the Interpools play off for the fourth time but has never represented the region in the national play off.

The boys of Coach Benson Elu have played 14 games this season and picked up wins in 9 of the games and is the only club in Pool A to have forced Victoria United FC to a defeat this season in all competition. Eyonde FC accepted defeat 4 times this season and played a draw in 1 game this season at home to AMA FC.

Top scorer Etongwe Joseph has been at the center of this club’s dreams this season as he has helped the club score in all their games this season and individually “Messi” as he is popularly called has scored 8 goals and is the club top scorer for the second season running. Eyonde as a team has so far scored 26 goals and conceded 16 goals.

Ranked as outsiders at the start of every season,the club has again this season, been very formidable at home where they drop points only to America for Africa.

Another Top performer for Coach Benson is youngster Ebongo Perdico.

This one will certainly be pulsating as Eyonde has scored in all league games this season while St Peter’s have failed to score just once.This will be decided tactically, in fact it will be Joseph VS Benson.

Maumu Youths VS Best Stars Limbe

It will be the 2nd Meeting between two clubs with a story to tell South West football.*

The only meeting between both sides was a friendly last season were the boys of President Atabe Harrison were humbled by 4 goals to 1 but one thing is certain;both clubs have come a long way since then.

This game will be decided by little details, given the tacticians involved.
