The coach of Racing de Bafoussam, Bertrand Ngougni , is contemplating resigning his position after another unimpressive outing by his team in the 30th round matches of the MTN Elite One championship.
Racing de Bafoussam were humiliated at home 0-3 by relegation threatened Colombe du Sud last Thursday.
The defeat suffered by Coach Bertrand Ngougni and his boys further complicates the survival chances of the Tout-Puissant de l’Ouest (Almighty of the West) to stay in MTN Elite One.
It is believed that Racing is currently faced with serious financial difficulties and a qualitatively diminished team as a result of some players abandoning the club.
In an interview granted our colleagues of camfoot, made it clear that he has been trying his best to see that the club stays in the country’s top flight football.
Hear him: “I will make the necessary decision. I think I have given everything I could, I think I can not really give more than I have. I wanted to push it to the end.
“This is not a leak as some can deduce. We have a real player problem. At the transfer, we lost eight players, recruited two attackers only, and one is injured. I do not have an alternative. I think I gave everything I could. When there is no competition, it really does not make you want to give your best.
We had twelve games without defeats, and since we lost the three points, as well as all the players I was referring to, it’s the descent into hell. There is no way. I can not blame the leaders because there is no way to get the other players. So we are forced to finish with the players of second zone, “he explained.
Racing is currently on the 16th position with 32 points in 30 games with just four games to the end of the season.
Formed in 1950, relegated from the top flight football in 2006, the Almighty of West are currently in a survival battle.
