Victoria United aka OPOPO’s winning run of seven games came to an end as they pulled a 0-0 tie against Ajax of Likomba at the Tiko Town Green Stadium.

It was a delay day one match in the second round of the Southwest Regional championship on Thursday, August 3.

The Limbe based side ended the first round of the championship with a 100 per cent record as they defeated all their opponents in the first round and also recording the highest number of goals scored.

This was the first game that Victoria United have failed to find the back of the net.

Speaking after the game, the Coach of Victoria United Mbock Maput, lamented the state of the pitch which according to him was reflected in their result.

“The match was horrible due to the state of the pitch. It was a different sport and not football,” OPOPO Coach lamented.

However, some football pundits have pointed out that the Victoria United side was not like it has been in the past league matches.

This is due to the absences of players like Yoah Willibroad, Malla Roger, Ahone Daniel.
