The 3 rd edition of the Tiko Council Inter-quarter football competition is in the business end and the number of contenders for the trophy has narrowed down from 12 teams to just two contenders.
After weeks of intense tackling, action and attraction at the Tiko Holforth field in an attempt to win the most coveted trophy donated by the Lord Mayor of the Tiko council Chief Moukondo Daniel Ngande.
The annual football Jamboree is an initiative of the Lord Mayor of the Council to keep the youths of the entire subdivision busy ,free from delinquencies and to build a sense of positive competition in youths who have always been very interested in the king sports.
The two finalists now have their destiny in their hands when they confront each other on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
Defending champions Chelsea Spot of Water Tank have for the second year qualified for the finals after defeating Colombia FC by one goal to 0 in the semi finals in a Holforth Derby.
The team has scored 10 goals in this season’s competition while picking the ball from the back of their net once and can boost of the tournament’s top scorer in their ranks( Nkinda,5 goals)
Chelsea Spot would face Arena FC from street 7 who eliminated EEMSA Jnr in the semi finals after post match penalty shoot out by a scoreline situation of 4 successful kicks to 3.
Arena FC is one the bright lights of this year’s competition and have lost their top scorer in this tournament Eyong Clevis to talents scout from an Academy in Nigeria and are still to have a goal scored against them in open play.
The team have scored many times in this year’s competition and build their team around tough tackling midfielder.
What a clash it promises to be come Saturday in the presence of the Lord Mayor.
