The last weekend saw Cameroonians enjoying a goal scoring spree in their various leagues abroad. In Qatar, former Chelsea striker, Samuel Eto’o, scored his sixth league goal of the season as his side was humbled by Al Rayyan 4-3.
In Tunisia, Frank Kom made it 3-1 to enable Esperance of Tunis book in the semi finals of the CAF Champions League after a 6-3 aggregate win against CS Constantine from Algeria.
In United Arab Emirates, former Indomitable Lions skipper, Sebastian Siani, was on target in Al Jazira 2-4 away victory against Al- Ittihad. It was the same situation for Georges Constant Mandjeck that scored to give his side, Maccabi Haifa, a 2-1 home win against Maccabi Netanya in Israel.
In Switzerland, it was Jean Pierre Nsame’s lone goal that saw his side, Young Boys of Bernes, crowned Swiss champions. Joel Tagueu spiced Maritimo’s 2-0 victory over Feirense in the Portuguese top tier.
Meanwhile, in Belgium, Franck Boya was on target as his team, Royal Excel Mouscron, secured a 2-2 away draw to Zulte Waregem.
It was a wonderful day in France for teenage Cameroon forward, Bryan Mbeumo, as his lone goal helped Troyes beat GFC Ajaccio 1-0. It was the 9th goal scored by the 19-year-old this season.
Conrad Abong also wrote his name on the scoring sheet in the German fourth tier football, Regionalliga Nord, as he scored the lone goal for his side as VfL Odenberg was humiliated 4-1 by Hanover 96 11.
In the Italian Serie B, Joseph Minala iced the scoring as his side Salernitana defeated Citadella 4-2 at home.
