Former Indomitable Lions and Cameroon’s 2017 AFCON winning manager Hugo Broos has joined Belgian Premier League side KV Oostende after failure to extend his contract by Cameroon.

Since reports last year of a leaked letter from the Normalisation Committee to the Minister of Sports terminating the Belgian tactician’s contract, Broos has finally returned home.

He has returned home to revive struggling KV Oostende that have been limping throughout the season and are currently on the 13thplace after finishing in the top 4 consistently in recent seasons.

The last time Broos managed a team in his homeland was in 2011. However, he has had managerial spells at Brugge, Anderlecht, Genk, Excelsior Mouscron and ZulteWaregem.

Although leaving Cameroon in a sad way after hoping to see that his contract was renewed, the Belgian in his 30 years coaching career, won his first trophy out of Belgium with the Lions.
