Cameroonian Indomitable Lions forward, Clinton Njie, has expressed discontent over allegations against him by the Cameroon Football Confederation, FECAFOOT.
He debunked the allegations recently after the FECAFOOT Secretary General, Martin Etonge, published a communique on the social media accusing him of sleeping with two girls before their friendly encounter with Burkina Faso
“I was surprised a few days ago, to see a private correspondence intended for me circulating on the social media networks. As much as I am shocked by the approach, I am surprised by the content,” Clinton Njie stated.
He said in his press release that he will defend himself with the weapons of truth.
“I shared my room during the selection with Collins Fai. We separated from our supervisors at the end of this grouping without any knowledge or questioning about any incident. I really hope it’s a misunderstanding or confusion,” he added.
Njie, however, said that he will submit himself to the authority for all explanations required.
According to the query letter signed by the Secretary General of the FECAFOOT, Martin Etonge, Njie is accused of coming late to the camp on May 25 instead of 24 without any justification. This was during a build-up to a friendly match against Burkina Faso.
Njie is also accused of violating the rules of the camp by allowing two girls into his hotel room before they were expelled by the hotel officials for nuisance.
A disciplinary proceeding was, therefore, opened by FECAFOOT against the young Cameroonian football player to provide explanations. This, they say, should be done within eight days provided, else he will face severe sanctions.
