The mandate of the Normalisation Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation, Fecafoot has been extended till December 16, world football governing body FIFA has said.
Their mandate was expected to end today(August 31) after it had been extended back in February for six months but the inability to elect a new executive body at the helm of Fecafoot has left FIFA with no choice but to impose another extension.
The Normalisation Committee was first installed back on August 23, 2017 to run the daily affairs of Fecafoot, re-write the texts and conduct elections for a new executive bureau at the helmn of the body.
However, the later task proved to be a hardnot to crack as FIFA instructed Cameroon to modify its laws regulating sports activities in the country before any election can take place in the country.
The modification was done and adopted during the last parliamentary session but it has taken an eternity for elections to be conducted at Fecafoot.
The President of the Normalisation Committee Dieudonné Happi had already drawn up an electoral calendar but was forced to put activities on hold by FIFA.
