Canon of Yaounde

MTN Elite II Championship:
PWD Bamenda and Canon of Yaoundé have both maintained their unbeaten run in the Cameroon MTN Elite II Championship.

Playing at home in Bamenda against Renaissance FC, PWD Bamenda was forced to a two-all tie.
The draw scuttled the four games winning streak of the team. Although the winning run was stopped, the Abakwa Boys, however, maintained their unbeaten record this year.

Since the Championship started weeks ago, the Abakwa Boys have played five games, wining four straight matches and a draw. The teams have also scored six goals and conceded two, giving them plus four goals.
PWD now occupies the second position in the league standings with 13 points.

Just like PWD Bamenda, Canon of Yaoundé has also played five games, recording four victories, one draw and no defeat.

The team is very potent in front of the goal and has scored 11 goals, conceded just two goals.
The numerical goal advantage has given the team an edge over PWD Bamenda, which has the same points.

The two legendary football clubs in Cameroon, alongside Tonnere Kalara Club, Bang Bullet and AS Matelots are the only clubs still unbeaten in the Championship.

Joining Canon of Yaoundé and PWD Bamenda on the top of the log is third place Renaissance FC with 11 points.

At the bottom of the table are National Polytechnic FC of Bambui (13), Ngaoundéré University FC (14) and Dynamo Club of Douala.

The three bottom clubs are yet to record a single victory despite playing four games except for National Polytechnic Bambui that has played just three games.

Northwest Clubs In Goal Drought

All Northwest clubs in the MTN Elite II Championship seem to be suffering from goal drought as none of the three clubs are yet to show their goal-scoring prowess.

Out of a total of twelve games played so far by the three clubs: (PWD Bamenda, Bang Bullet of Ngambe and National Polytechnic FC of Bambui), only nine goals have been scored by the three teams and conceded six.

Going by the statistics, the clubs from the Northwest Region have shown some fairly strong performance in their defensive compartments.

Meantime, PWD Bamenda in her five games has scored six goals and conceded two, while Bang Bullet of Ngambe has scored just two goals and conceded one in the four games played.

National Polytechnic Bambui has the worst record of all the three Northwest clubs. The team has scored just once in three outings and have picked up the ball from their net on three occasions.
