The President General of PWD Bamenda, Pascal Abunde, has thanked all the fans of the Abakwa Boys for their efforts that saw the club raised circa FCFA 1 million on social media recently.
The club’s supporters on a campaign dubbed “operation 8” to see the club ascend to Elite One football next year, used social media mediums like fans Whatssap and Facebook pages to raised the amount.
Hear him: “Fellow supporters and sympathizers of PWD Bamenda, I appreciate all contributions you have been making in the forum geared towards pushing our darling club to Elite one. Most especially I would like to express my profound gratitude to all the 17 fans who took part in the PWD challenge 8 fundraiser, I equally thank Mr Talla Ferdinand for leading the fundraiser in such a special way.
“This has never happened before in Cameroon, using the social media to raise 1 million + Fcfa for a football club in an organised manner.
“For those who are still dragging their feet, I call on you to come on board the train to Elite 1 in subsequent fundraisers. I also wish to inform you that this process will enable us to properly segment our supporters so that we can easily target specific groups for specific purposes.
On behalf of the management of the club I wish to thank you all for your continuous support…”
